I Allow Others To Label Me
Some of us carry the labels people of the world put on us.
You may have had a teacher when you were younger that told you that you were not smart enough.
A friend may have told you if you lost 10 more pounds THEN you would be perfect.
A parent may have said to you, “Why can’t you just be like your brother or sister?”.
I can’t break free from my negative thoughts and the labels others put on me.
Some of the temperaments may be able to brush this off or use it as fuel to “show people” who they are. Other temperaments would be very damaged by this. They would carry these hurts with them throughout their lives. They would also constantly remind themselves what a failure they are and what others said about them. Low self-esteem would haunt them and may cause them to become depressed.
What can I do to break free from these labels?
In Ephesians 1:4-5 it says:
“Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure.”
What the world thinks you are is not what God thinks of you. It says that long before the world was made he chose us to be without fault in his eyes. He thinks that we are perfect. Knowing him can help bring peace to your mind. Knowing him will help you break free from the labels the world put on you and adapt HIS label.
