Fear…and Overcoming It
The past few weeks we have been talking about fear. How fear can control you and cloud your mind. It can also lead you to making rash decisions out of panic instead of relying on the Holy Spirit for answers.
So how do you break down the wall of fear and take back control? How do you build your faith in God so that you know you can rely on Him for ALL your needs?
How do I overcome fear?
Satan wants to control you with the fear that he has placed on your mind. He wants you to make a rash decision out of fear and panic. Because he knows if you rely on the Holy Spirit for answers, it just builds your trust with God even more. Then, the foothold of fear he thought he had over you has been overcome.
You are not alone.
Isaiah 41:13 says,
“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.”
God wants us to rely on him. He wants to help us and take away any fear or doubt that we may have. Most of the time, we rely on ourselves for the answers. You may feel like God is too far off to help you. The truth is that the more you fellowship with him on a daily basis the more trust you will have in him to help you.
Just like any other relationship, you build trust by spending time with God. Talking to him about anything and everything going on in your life. Romans 10:17 says,
“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”
