1 Corinthians 13:
5b “it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].”
The one thing that will take away the joy in your life that you need for spiritual health and success in your faith walk, is letting evil that is done to you affect your thought process. Learning to “pay no attention” to a suffered wrong may not seem easy, but it can be done if you look at the subject in the “right light”
I remember our family attending a church a long time ago. At first things were great…but within ONE WEEK our whole family was running for cover. Why isn’t important…but it caught us off guard…we were still enjoying the newness of the experience. Needless to say this cut us to the core…we had done nothing wrong. We may have had a right to feel the way we did (even though we have kept silent to this day over the subject) but God began dealing with me…he told me that unless I totally, 100% forgave the people who attacked us, that our faith walk would be all but dead. He showed us that faith works by and because of love. We forgave and the results of faith began flowing again. I have since learned to guard my heart to such an extent that the suffered wrongs never get a chance to enter it to begin with…they are forgiven before it becomes an issue.
