Nothing can sever the bonds of marriage quicker than infidelity. Betraying a mate with infidelity is difficult to recover from, but it can be done. First, we must understand ‘why” a person would consider being unfaithful to a mate. I realize everyone has a “reason” of why they strayed from the marriage, but it is of little consequence to the one that was betrayed. We can write a book (which I am in the process of writing) about this issue and never reach a conclusion on exactly why this choice is made.
Knowing how to meet your own “temperament needs” is vital to beginning to understand the “why” of this issue. Often without knowing it, we make decisions to meet our temperament needs…and all to often we meet these needs in a less than positive/Godly way. We will begin to discuss the various temperaments and why they make the decisions they do when it comes to infidelity.
