Hostile work environments and what to do
When work becomes a major stressor
Working in a hostile environment is something that virtually every person must learn and master if they are to be successful. At the office. people can be pressing…seeking to climb to the top any way that they can get there…and if that means climbing over you, they most likely are eager to do it.
Many people have learned to “fly under the radar” and can be quite good at it, and in fact, we can learn from this individual. You may notice that this person rarely shares anything personal about themselves. They most likely don’t socialize very much with their co-workers other than a business type relationship, and if they must socialize or attend company events, they are just sociable enough to “get the job done”.
It is quite possible that these people, without realizing it, have learned what their temperament needs are and have learned to meet these needs outside the workplace.(1)
The Melancholy is custom made to deal with business relationships because they approach everyone in a cool and business like fashion.
The Sanguine is just the opposite and has a temperament need to be involved with everyone that they are working with.
So what’s the answer? The key is knowing what your temperament is so that you will know how to meet your temperament needs in such a way that you do not tap into your co-workers and risk loosing your job.
