Am I Shining My Light?
As believers part of our jobs is to tell others about Jesus. For some people this comes very easily and for others (depending on your temperament) this can be more difficult.
There is no “right way” to minster to others. You may be comfortable standing in front of a large group of people shouting it for all to hear. Or, you may be more comfortable talking to someone in private.
Am I disobeying God?
Luke 11:33 says,
“No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lamp stand, so that those who enter may see the light.”
When you are fellowshipping with God on a regular basis his light will shine through you. That does not just mean through your words, but it also means your actions.
You maybe at a stand still with your relationship with God. Or, you may just feel like you are at a standstill with witnessing to others. If you feel this way about either just repent and ask God for forgiveness. Then, get into a habit of fellowshipping with him again. And, ask him to show you how he wants you to witness towards others.
How does temperament fit in?
Depending on your temperament it could be very difficult for you to go up to a complete stranger and talk to them about God. That is why God gave us each a unique temperament. So that we could each reach people with the unique temperament strengths and gifts he has given us.
God will never give you more than you can handle. And if he tells you to witness to someone in a way that you don’t feel comfortable, trust him and do it. Because he will give you the tools and the words to say.
