The term “love languages” has been in the news and in books and teaching series lately, and it’s about time. Learning to “speak” these languages may seem difficult for you, so much so that you may feel that it’s just not worth it to expend that much emotional energy to even try. In our marriage counseling sessions in our Fort Worth office, we hear of the difficulties that couples face in trying to “communicate” love is a way that their mate will accept.
Did you know that just as there are “love languages” there are even more ways that people “translate” these love languages. You may communicate a love language to you mate with a pure heart, only to have your efforts to fall on deaf ears. Understand that each temperament translates love through a different set of variables, so much of what you say may be “filtered out” by their temperament.
