When seeking marriage counseling, the therapist must get the couple to the starting line s0-to-speak. Wholeness always starts with Jesus Christ and his Word, and the delivery method is just as important. Below are a few scriptures that tell us how it’s done. Husbands must teach The Word to their wives. Thinking that our wives are getting teaching from their pastors or from the internet is the wrong way to look at it. A woman will receive teaching from her husband more completely than from any other person.
I realize that there are some of you who haven’t done this for years…but starting out a little a day will produce results.
Here are a few of my favorite scriptures on this subject.
- Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, - Ephesians 5:28
So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; - Colossians 3:19
Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them. - 1 Peter 3:7
You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.
