When entering into marriage counseling, I often see how inconsistent in the relationships the couples are. The pain and anguish affects the couple to the degree that they cannot be consistent in any area of their relationship except to put the wall of self-defense up. They stand behind their wall screaming at each other, “CAN’T YOU SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO ME? YOU ARE HURTING ME!” The other mate is yelling the same thing at the top of their lungs. As Christians we have been led to believe that hanging on in quiet desperation is the christian way to handle these things, but that’s not what The Word of God says. Paul states in 1 Corinthians 13 that we are to love back…and he gives us many ways to do carry out this task. Each person does this in a certain way that is dictated by Temperament. Knowing the way you communicate love to others will allow you to complete the task!
