So what happens when you end up in a place (emotional or physical) where you know you are not supposed to be? You are disappointed and hurt, and you may even be angry. You look around you and think…”this isn’t where I pictured myself at this time! We’ve certainly thought that a time or two in our lives. I remember my spiritual father saying that wherever you are, that you can bring the Garden of Eden out of you and spread it around and change your very surroundings. Each Temperament has a gift or “strength” that is available. If you know where your strengths are, you can use them to bring about that change. Each Temperament can bring about a unique quality that can change a situation and make it just what the person needs. Here are examples;
- The Melancholy is a thinker. In fact…no other temperament has the ability to think as the Melancholy can. This allows the Melancholy to develop ideas that can change their situation.
- The Sanguine Is very “people oriented” and are able to “network” with people in such a way that doors open for them
- The Choleric Is a God born leader from the word GO! And they can GO wherever they choose. The Choleric is a “people motivator” who motivates people to get things accomplished. These people are always “at the helm” wherever they are.
- The Phlegmatic is a person who is easy-going and well-balanced. Typified by their low energy, there is little that can bother them. They function well in hostile environments and are great negotiators.
- The Supine These people do not like to make decisions or lead the way, but they are great assistants. They have the unique ability to make people feel good while not trespassing into their lives.
While it isn’t good to try to self diagnose, you can see that there are strengths in each temperament, and if you are in a place that you don’t want to be, use your strengths to make that change!
