No One Hears Me!
I feel like no one hears me! Are they even trying to listen? Don’t they care? Is there something wrong with ME?
For some people, depending on their temperament, this applies to everyone in their day to day life. To others, this may apply only to the people they value most such as close friends and family.
Because each temperament has different needs, certain temperaments need to feel accepted and understood more than others. In turn, they need to feel validated and when they do not feel validated it can lead them to feel rejected.
How does not feeling validated tie into rejection?
When someone constantly feels as though their opinions, needs, and thoughts do not matter to the people around them, it can lead to feelings of rejection.
Some temperaments feel rejection much stronger than other temperaments. Whether those feelings are true or felt, that really does not matter. Rejection is rejection to the person it effects.
For some people, this can do a lot of damage to their self-worth, relationships, and everyday life. It can make it very difficult for them to get up in the morning. They may just feel that they will be rejected and not validated, so why even try. It makes it difficult to have meaningful relationships with people. They may feel that, “new relationships equal new rejections from new people. And they already have enough of that in their lives.” Healing from that is the only way to find peace.
Next time we will go over how to deal with the feelings of rejection and where you can find the validation you need.
