Anger…And How It Enslaves You
Do you feel like your anger consumes you? Does it change who you are? Does it cloud your judgement and thinking?
Everyone gets angry. For some people that anger is just temporary and passes more quickly. For others, anger takes ahold and enslaves them mind, body, and soul.
When does anger go from being normal to controlling you?
Anger is a normal emotion everyone has. When anger interferes with your relationships and how you act/react to people it becomes a problem. Also, if you are holding onto that anger (holding a grudge) it can be damaging to you and your relationships.
Anger cause stress, bitterness, anxiety, loss of sleep, and many other issues; which, in turn, can cause you additional health issues.
Ephesians 4:26,27 says:
And “don’t sin by letting anger control you” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger give a foothold to the devil.
Anger is not the sin, the control anger has is the sin. So, by letting anger fester and take ahold of you, you are letting it control you.
I get so angry and sometimes feel out of control.
When anger takes control of you everything else becomes out of control. How you talk to people, how you act/react to others, and your ability to think clearly and make sound decisions.
You may do something when you are angry that you probably would never do because anger takes your ability to think clearly. At that moment you are only able to think with pride, selfishness, revenge, and anything else of the devil.
In Ephesians 2:27 it says that “anger gives a foothold to the devil. He takes pleasure in our weakness and uses it to hurt you and others around you.
